Who We Are

IMPACTO Latino's purpose is to help proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Latin America. IMPACTO Latino accomplishes this purpose by planting worshiping churches that are committed to evangelize and disciple their communities.

IMPACTO Latino’s ministries may include any project to foster:

Evangelism
Discipleship
Pastoral Care
Leadership Development
Congregational Development of both physical and spiritual needs
Community Development needs

IMPACTO Latino may partner with any individual, congregation, mission or institution that fosters similar goals and purposes.

The purposes of IMPACTO Latino are fulfilled by supplying oversight, prayer, encouragement, and any additional ministries that the Board of Advisors deem possible considering the personnel and financial resources of IMPACTO Latino to empower the missionaries and national ministry workers fulfill their ministry callings.

What We Do: Pachuca Project

THE VISION

Our ultimate hope for Mexico is to see it no longer be a mission field at all. All of our church planting efforts are aimed squarely at local empowerment so that Mexico’s churches might become more and more vibrant, mature and strong.

The Pachuca Project has the long-term goal of planting five growing national congregations in this city of 1.5 million.

THE WORK

Most of our church planting work in Pachuca is oriented around three things:

Relationship evangelism

In our neighborhood and city, we are actively engaged in relationship evangelism with our neighbors, friends and acquaintances. These relationships form the basis for home groups and Bible studies. Also, we build relationships through “claves” or outreach centers. Our goal is to see these friends become new Christians who are part of new church small groups.

Cell groups

Our church planting model is strongly oriented around creating interconnected small groups. Each week these groups meet in homes to discuss what was studied on Sunday in the sermon and teaching. We’ve found that this promotes community and growth as the church members see themselves as ministers in their city.

Leadership development

Our church planting model is infused with leadership development. Every member of the church is encouraged to attend Christian leadership training courses, and to gradually take on additional responsib ilities in the church’s small groups. IMPACTO Latino’s church plants in Pachuca take new Christians from baptism to small-group leadership. In this way, the church has a constantly growing leadership base for new Christians coming into the church. Our long-term goal in this area is to create a sustained Mexican leadership capable of taking on full responsibility of the church.

Church Plants

Jubilee Church

IMPACTO Latino’s current project is the Jubilee church plant on the city’s east side. The congregation is still young, but it is growing steadily.

Right now, the missionary team leads along with national ministry workers Jorge and Juanita Del Angel. After working for Nissan, Mexico, for many years, Jorge decided that he would retire from the auto business and work in the church. He and Juanita have been working with the Jubilee plant from its beginning.

New Hope Church

The Impacto Latino team began with the New Hope Church plant in 1995. Today the church is 100% nationalized, active in the community, steadily growing, and made up of more than 80% new Christians.

New Life Church

Over the last 8 years, CMF missionaries Greg and Vicki Syverson have been part of the Pachuca Project vision and were leading in the first Community Outreach Center in one of the poorest areas of the city. On May 3, 2009, the New Life Church began at the facility for the Community Outreach Center. Gerzahin and Reyna Zaragoza are joining Greg and Vicki in this new congregation.

Transition to NMSI

On January 1, 2010, IMPACTO Latino became a ministry under the umbrella of New Mission Systems International (NMSI).The Board of IMPACTO Latino, along with the missionaries, have been in discussions with NMSI for over a year. IMPACTO’s Board of Directors approved this transition at its meeting on November 14, 2009.

The IMPACTO Latino Board will move to the role of Advisory Board for the Alvarado, Duggins and Greer families and for the national ministry workers, Jorge and Juanita Del Angel. The IMPACTO Latino Board will continue to be counselors and accountability partners for us and our projects.

YouthHOPE

YouthHOPE is a ministry that is dedicated to the transformation of the lives of global youth by the equipping of the church to meet their holistic needs. We are involved in more than ten countries around the world youth ministry leadership training, mobilizing youth and adolescents for ministry, creating awareness about global youth issues and participating in community development projects that provide better quality of life for youth.
