7.0 Earthquake in Haiti

We have established a Haiti relief fund dedicated to receiving donations for earthquake response. The Red Cross estimates 3 million people have been affected.

Tuesday evening a 7.0 earthquake hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Already the poorest nation in the Western hemisphere, the latest reports coming out of major news sources paint a grim picture. Widespread destruction throughout Port-au-Prince, including the partial collapse of the Presidential Palace, evidences a long recovery road. Airport closings have hampered the arrival of needed aid from the international community.

All of our missionaries have been contacted and are safe, although the Raphael's and Etienne's houses have been destroyed. We ask for your continued prayers for the safety and ministry of our national missionary families: Leonel and Carlette Raphael, and Jean Martin Etienne (both located in Port-au-Prince), Nego and Ellen Pierre-Louis (located in Jacmel), Mioche and Rosie Rock (located in Pignon) and Sainsurin Jean-Baptiste (located in Gonaive).
